WHERE WE ARE
Established especially to help the hiring process of personnel for the Public Service, the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS) is a government institution with a status of independent Department. The Public Service Act No. 8 of 2002 established the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat; Act No. 18 of 2007, section 29(1), modified it. Names Called for Employment UTUMISHI 2024
Vision: To be the regional Centre of Excellence in Public Service Recruitment.
Objective: To advise companies on employment-related issues and engage public servants using current techniques by following values of equity, openness, and merit.
Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS) functions
PSRs mostly serve to help the public service to recruit new members. Public Service Cap. 298 of 2002, as revised by Amendment Act No. 18 of 2007, section 29 (1), states that PSRs serve:
Look for different experts with specialised knowledge and equip databases for such experts to facilitate their employment.
Register professionals and grads for a simple reference for filling open positions.
Promote open public service post vacancies.
Invite relevant professionals for interview reasons.
Tell companies about different aspects of hiring; also, do any other actions or deeds under the direction of the minister in charge of public service.
Principal Values of PSRS
The fundamental ideals of PSRS foundations of work performance and behaviour in adaptation to changes in society, government, politics, and technology. PSRs core values were as follows:

Section 29 (1) of the Public Service CAP 298 established the independent Department of President’s Office, Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRs) modified by Act No. 18 of 2007. Established to help the Government recruit on its behalf, PSRS was Under section 29 (6) the Amendment Act No. 18 of 2007 specifies the purposes of the PSRS as follows:
Look for different experts with specialised knowledge and equip databases for such experts to be more easily hired.
Register professionals and grads for quick access in covering open positions.
Public service empty vacancies should be advertised.
Invite relevant professionals for interview reasons.
Counsel companies on several aspects of hiring; also, do any other actions or activities under the direction of the Minister in charge of Public Service.
Human resource is an ankle and a major determinant of public service delivery; hence, PSRS has been assigned a responsibility of recruiting public servants in fair, transparent, and timely manner; meanwhile, observing and guaranteeing quality and access to all applicants helps to deliver equitable Public Service in Tanzania. Our policies and norms guide us to improve government public service on matters related to recruiting process and concurrently strengthen good relations with our stakeholders.
