Short Synopsis Project’s Description
Strengthening Tanzania’s public health supply chain and pharmaceutical services would help to provide sustainable access to and suitable use of safe, effective, quality-assured, reasonably priced health commodities by USAID NextGen Ugavi Bora, Afya Bora. For both USAID-procured health commodities and those purchased through national/local systems, USAID NextGen Ugavi Bora must work to develop the capacity of local systems, institutions, and individuals to sustainably manage supply chains, so strengthening local pharmaceutical management systems, including quality pharmaceutical services and national regulatory systems.

Job Description
With USAID NextGen Ugavi Bora, the Afya Bora activity in Tanzania, the Senior Accountant is a full-time post. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for accounting transaction processing, budget tracking, and compliance assurance. Working closely with the Finance and Operations Director, the Senior Accountant will be in charge of vital tasks as detailed below. Knowledgeable of JSI ethical standards, policies, and processes, the Senior Accountant follows all government taxation and other statutory procedures and requirements.

configuring and maintaining QuickBooks’ Chart of Accounts as well as FieldLink’s;
Verification of receipt vouchers satisfying all JSI guidelines and standard operating procedures; expense verification
Recording shared expense receipts;
monthly reconciliation and general ledger upkeep;
Create data reports to help the Director of Finance and Operations create yearly, activity-specific budgets.
Maintaining a level of effort, staff analysis
Create monthly budget tracking reports for JSI US headquarters.
Track daily cash management by means of tracking bank and cash balances.
Monthly bank and cash reconciliations;
Review income and expense vouchers, verify supporting records, and guarantee mistake-free and accurate paperwork.
Monthly process accounts payable and receivables pay for
Record vendor and employee advances and settle them in line with JSI/WEI guidelines.
Examine small monetary outlays and guarantee prompt OM replacement.
Calculate service tax precisely and then deposit within recommended deadlines; and
Issue income tax rules-based issue tax deduction certificates to corresponding deductees.
QUALIFICATIONS
With eight to ten years of financial accounting experience or an MBA (Finance), a bachelor’s degree in commerce or chartered accountant or cost accountant
Using QuickBooks accounting tools;
robust grasp of government policies and guidelines
strong knowledge of USAID policies and guidelines;
Superior interpersonal skills and communication enable efficient working interactions at all levels.
Possibility of functioning effectively in a big team;
One must show considerable fluency in both spoken and written English.
