All legal actions concerning the organisation will be conducted and handled by the legal officer (legal). This entails creating litigation plans, making sure rules are followed, overseeing outside counsel, and defending the company in court, tribunals, and other dispute resolution settings.

Principal Obligations
Litigation Management: Act as the company’s representative in court, arbitration, mediation, and tribunal processes. Create, examine, and submit affidavits, petitions, applications, pleadings, and other court filings. Keep thorough records of court matters and make sure stakeholders are informed on time.
Legal Strategy and Risk Assessment: To safeguard the organisation’s interests, create and put into action litigation strategy. Assess legal risk and offer advice on possible obligations in cases involving litigation. Give senior management legal advice and suggestions.

Organising with Outside Counsel:
Communicate with the bank’s legal firms and outside legal counsel. Monitor performance and provide the necessary information to outside counsel. Ensure budget adherence and lawsuit management that is cost-effective.
Advisory and Compliance: Verify that all legal matters abide by the relevant laws and rules. Give internal teams advice on the dangers of litigation and ways to reduce exposure. Help in the creation and evaluation of legal policies and processes.
Research and Documentation: Investigate legislation, case laws, and rules that are pertinent to current or prospective legal disputes. Keep an extensive database of case histories, court records, and precedents.
Dispute Resolution: To settle disagreements amicably, participate in alternative dispute resolution procedures. When appropriate, negotiate agreements to lower the risks and expenses of litigation.
Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a liaison for all litigation-related issues between the legal team and internal stakeholders. Create and deliver reports on the status and results of litigation to management.

Qualifications Needed
A law bachelor’s degree (LL.B.) from an accredited university or institution.
It will be advantageous to have a master’s degree.
Acceptance as a High Court Advocate.
Three (3) years or more of work experience is required.
Outstanding understanding of all legal issues pertaining to the bank’s activities
Outstanding communication and verbal skills in both Kiswahili and English.
Capacity to adjust and collaborate efficiently
Using both analytical and creative thinking to solve problems
Excellent litigation abilities
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities with an awareness of the political, emotional, and attitude facets of business life

MANAGER LEGAL SERVICES

Number of positions available 1 Job Objective
Overseeing the organisation’s contract lifecycle and making sure that all agreements adhere to legal requirements, corporate rules, and business objectives is the responsibility of the Legal Manager-Contracts Management. Draughting, reviewing, negotiating, and overseeing a variety of contracts, such as service-level agreements, vendor agreements, client agreements, and non-disclosure agreements, are all part of the job. In order to reduce risks and improve compliance in contract management procedures, the legal manager will also offer strategic legal guidance.

Principal Obligations
Contract Draughting and Review: Create, examine, and negotiate a range of contracts, such as partnership agreements, NDAs, vendor agreements, customer agreements, service agreements, and procurement agreements. Verify that contracts meet the legal and operational needs of the company.
Contract Negotiation: To obtain advantageous terms and reduce risks, lead and oversee discussions with other parties. During contract discussions, serve as the internal stakeholders’ point of contact.
Contract Risk Management: Recognise and resolve business and legal hazards in agreements. Create plans to reduce risks and settle disagreements or ambiguities in contracts.
Legal advice and compliance: Verify that contracts abide by all relevant laws, rules, and internal guidelines. Give business teams legal counsel on issues pertaining to contracts, such as regulatory compliance.
Contract Lifecycle Management: Put into practice and supervise the contract management procedure, which includes keeping track of due dates, extensions, and commitments. establish precise records and establish a centralised database for all contracts.
Policy Development and Training: Create and revise templates, policies, and procedures for contract management to take best practices into account. Provide internal stakeholders with training on compliance, contract management, and negotiation techniques.
Stakeholder Management: To respond to questions about contracts, work with internal departments such as operations, sales, finance, and procurement. Serve as a point of contact for clients, vendors, and legal advice on behalf of the legal department.
Analytics and Reporting: Create regular reports for top management that include critical indicators, contract status, and risk evaluations. Analyse data to find patterns and chances to enhance contract management procedures.
