Program and Department Summary
Established in Tanzania on June 9, 2011, Mercy Corps registered under Non-Governmental Act, 2002 and received registration number 00NGO/00004646 from Registrar of NGOs. AgriFin, which aimed to close the inclusion gap for smallholder farmers (SHF) who lack access to reasonably priced, accessible, demand-driven financial products and services that drive greater productivity and income for farm families, has run a number of initiatives spanning food and security, livelihood, and peacebuilding since its founding. With support to policy initiatives, local and national government, local civil society organisations and communities in preventing violent extremism, CREATE – Collective Resilience Against Extremism aimed to reduce the drivers, enablers, and narratives of violent extremism in Tanzania; RedP2: Rural Electrification and Densification Project, Phase 2A sought to improve the livelihoods of rural entrepreneurs by means of business skills training and the stimulation of productive uses of energy; and, GRUNDFOS – Solar Irrigation for Agricultural Resilience In Least Developed Regions in Tanzania, aimed to improve food security and agricultural resilience of small holder farmers by means of the adoption of the Grundfos Small-Scale Solar Irrigation (SSSI) pumps and provision of targeted business development support services. Currently, DREAMS – Delivering Resilient Enterprise and Market Systems target at alleviating the ingrained and extreme poverty among naturalised Tanzanians and their host communities in Western Tanzania stemming from protracted relocation and limited livelihood options in settlements.Jobs from Tanzania
Departmental Synopsis
Assessed for all operation tasks in Tanzania, the Mercy Corps Driver is Along with Mercy Corps internal policies and procedures, the Mercy Corps Operation Department guarantees adherence to donor rules. As a support to the Program Department, the Driver will timely report and assist the Operations and Program team to guarantee effective and efficient use of every operation.
Overall Position Synopsis
Following Mercy Corps SOPs, policies, and traffic laws, the Driver is assigned to securely move program and operation workers as well as guests. Maintaining vehicle cleanliness, regular servicing, and continuous fuel availability falls also on S/he.

As directed, operate Mercy Corps program vehicles to guarantee staff member and guest safe and quick transportation.

qualification, knowledge, and skills:
Holder of either a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) [Form Four Certificate] or further Education.
Speaking and writing English well as well as Kiswahili.
Driving 4WD manual cars in towns and up-country areas with a clean driving record, an experienced driver with a lengthy history of driving with international organisation vehicles
Must have a current Class C Driving Licence with at least eight years of working experience.

Living circumstances and environmental conditions
Based in Ulyankuru Tabora, the role is not accompanied. Sometimes evening and weekend work is needed to satisfy deadlines and during times of shocks and stress. At all times and in all in-country locations, team members are expected to act professionally and respect local laws, customs, and MC rules, processes, and values.
