The Public Service Act No. 8 0f 2002 established the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat; Act No. 18 of 2007, section 29(1), modified this.
Purposes of the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat
PSRs mostly serve to help the Public Service to recruit new members. The Public Service Cap. 298 of 2002 as changed by Amendment Act No. 18 of 2007 section 29 states: “Search for varied experts with specific talents and prepare database for such professionals for easier recruiting; Register professionals and graduates for reasons of simplicity of access for filling open positions;
Promote open public service post vacancies;
Invite relevant professionals for interview reasons.
Counsel companies on several aspects of hiring; also, do any other actions or activities under the direction of the Minister in charge of Public Service.
