Instrumentation Technician
Job Summary
To complement our workforce, the Dangote Cement is looking for an experienced Instrumentation Technician. Under this responsibility will be regular maintenance, repairs, installs, calibrations, adjustments, and integration of several kinds of plant instrumentation equipment.
Important Duties and Responsibilities
- As ordered, complete all work order maintenance, troubleshooting, and plant equipment calibration.
- Troubleshoot, check, test, maintain, repair, clean, and calibrate solid-state and microprocessor-based control systems as well as instruments.
- As needed, repair or replace control devices including switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, transmitters, etc.
- Install measuring and control devices on either new or existing plant machinery.
- Troubleshoot, fix, and minor program for many PLC control systems, frequency drives, and other electrical equipment.
- Take part in environmental, health, and plant safety initiatives and see safety guidelines followed.
- Perform any other tasks the Section Head/Engineers have assigned.
- Trade Test II + 16 years of related employment experience;
- Trade Test I + 8 years of related job experience or
- OND plus five years of comparable job experience.
Skills & Competency
- Excellent phase testers, multimeters, meggers, and other testing tools knowledge.
- Capacity to understand designs and paperwork.
- Excellent written and speaking abilities.
- Incredibly strong organizing abilities.
- Excellent people, networking, and teaming abilities.
- Mastery of office productivity tool application.
