Secretary of the Secretariat of Public Service Employment, on behalf of the Ministry, Department independent, Government Agencies, Regional Administrations and Local Government Authorities (MDAs & LGAs) welcomes job applications from qualified Tanzanians and ability to fill fifteen (15) positions as specified in this announcement.

QUANTITY SURVEYOR II – 5 Posts

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparing plans and estimates of construction costs and tenders (bill of quantities);
  • Reviewing and evaluating the work of various ongoing projects for payment;
  • Collecting price statistics of construction materials for various projects;
  • Prepare and evaluate additional work costs when they occur (Valuation of Variations);
  • Preparing the needs of construction projects (Project Resources); and
  • To do other tasks assigned by his supervisor according to his cadre.

Qualifications & Education

Construction Management, Building Survey, Building Economics, Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or other equivalent qualifications
in Colleges recognized by the Government. Be registered as a Building Estimator, Graduate Quantity Surveyor and Architects Registration Board no
Building Assessors (AQRB).

Salary Scale

LIVESTOCK OFFICER II – 5 Posts

Duties and Responsibilities

i. Designing livestock production plans in the district;
ii. Coordinating livestock production in small and large farms livestock;
iii. Help coordinate extension plans related to livestock production in the district;
iv. Coordinating and conducting training in breeding, processing of livestock products for veterinary experts and breeders;
v. To review and amend the infrastructure of livestock markets in his district and region;
v. Designing, establishing and implementing livestock development projects in the district;
vii. Doing a resource survey (resource survey) e.g. livestock, foods of livestock, feed, etc. in his place of work;
viii. Conduct training for agents, sellers and experts on safe ways in placing and distributing livestock inputs;
ix. Researching new areas suitable for raising various livestock;
x. To make an assessment on the environmental damage caused by animal husbandry in district;
xi. Participating in activities to control outbreaks of animals/pests feed;
xii. Monitor, record, analyze and interpret livestock production statistics;
xiii. Preparing general information on livestock development;
xiv. To do other work related to his profession as he will be directed by his chief of work;

Qualifications & Education

Employment with a degree in Animal Science or  Agriculture Science specializing in Animal Science from the University of Agriculture
Sokoine or an equivalent qualification from another university recognized by Government.

LIVESTOCK FIELD OFFICER II – 5 Posts

Duties and Responsibilities

i. Conducting livestock disease investigations for breeders in his area;
ii. Working with Animal Health Inspectors, inspecting meat and
slaughterhouse cleanliness;
iii. Collecting data on meat and livestock products such as leather and
writing statements;
iv. Treating and giving vaccinations for veterinary diseases under the supervision of a doctor
of Livestock and advise breeders how to protect livestock against diseases;
v. Visiting the breeders regularly and giving them expert advice on his place of work;
v. Collect all the statistics of development and livestock diseases in the area his work and reporting;
vii. Advising and managing the construction of sinks, slaughterhouses, hangers and infrastructure related to animal husbandry;
viii. Supervise the mixing of antiperspirants;
ix. Helping in the transfer (Artificial Insemination) and production (breeding) of livestock in general;
x. To advise farmers on the best methods of producing milk, meat, eggs and animal care; and
xi. To perform other tasks assigned by his head of related tasks and his profession.

Qualifications & Education

Employed graduates of Form IV or VI with Diploma (Diploma- NTA Level 6) of one of the fields of Livestock Production; Dairy and Poultry Production; Veterinary Health and Production; Inspection of Meat from Agency Colleges of Veterinary Studies or qualifications corresponding to that from another college recognized by the Government.
