Originally known as SEDA, VisionFund Tanzania Microfinance Bank Ltd. (VFT MFB) is a fast-expanding, respectable microfinance bank (MFB) with a loan book of more than TZs. 44 billion and more than 60,000 customers, more than 5,000 of whom are smallholder farmers. Position: Agri-Officer of Business Development
Noting to: Head of Business Development & Innovation Officer
Duty:
Successful application of creative agricultural financing products depends on the Agri-Climate Business Development Officer. This position entails recognising the particular needs of smallholder farmers and honing and supervising customised financial products. The officer, a subject-matter expert and leader, will unite VFT teams, experts, and stakeholders to guarantee ongoing development and resilience in VisionFund Tanzania’s agricultural loan projects. The Agri-Climate Business Development Officer will thus affect knowledge leadership in the agricultural environment. To properly position VisionFund in agricultural financing, the officer will be dedicated to remaining current on industry trends, technology innovations, and best practices. Engagement with governmental agencies, trade associations, and research institutes will centre the officer. Analysing value chains, adjusting trends and dynamics, and making sure agricultural loan products meet the urgent demands of value chain players will fall to the officer.
Principal chores
Clearly define short-term and long-term objectives to help a VFT create their agriculture master planning for the agricultural lending unit.
Oversaw the efficient execution of the strategy to make sure all initiatives complement Vision Fund Tanzania’s strategic plan and VFIs Vision 2030.
Work together with consultants and the project team to improve and customise agricultural loans and other financing solutions depending on thorough value chain analysis and market research.
Constant evaluation and improvement of current goods guarantees fit with changing needs of smallholder farmers.
To guarantee a flawless integration of agricultural products and services, encourage strong cooperation among the credit analyst, insurance manager, and other relevant stakeholders.
Work closely with the teams in marketing and communication to create and carry out plans that successfully advertise agricultural loan products.
Create and carry out strong plans for the agricultural goods of VFT’s strategic stance on the market.
Create explicit key performance indicators (KPIs) for agricultural lending products so that success may be quantified.
Create efficient systems to gather insightful comments from clients and smallholder farmers, therefore guaranteeing an ongoing feedback loop.
credentials and background:
Bachelor’s degree in business, agriculture, finance, or a closely connected discipline; agricultural economics
Knowledge of collaborating with agricultural partners and development agencies
Experience in value chain development in delivery of training; any official agricultural finance training courses or certifications
proven knowledge in product management or a related field, emphasising financial products.
Excellent strategic and analytical ability.
First-rate organisational skills and project management.
Good interpersonal skills and communication. a knowledge of the purposes of and the application of credit bureau policies.
awareness of the difficulties smallholder farmers experience and familiarity with the agricultural sector.
Work experience for microfinance or related financial companies.
