JOB TITLE: Business Development Associate
Britam Insurance Tanzania
Dar Es Salaam
Goal of the employment
The growth of revenues and client count for the branch will be within the responsibility of the job holder, thereby enabling the branch to satisfy specified yearly premium targets. The position will be answered under Branch Manager.
Principal obligations
1. Direct or via middlemen, secure new businesses
2. Service current business and follow up to guarantee renewal
3. Keep great customer service for direct clients and middlemen.
4. Underwrite first in line with established policies to guarantee good acceptance of risk.
Make sure you pay your premiums before the insurance attaches.
Follow up to make sure middlemen accurately and timely pay commissions.
Following approved KPIs, recruit new agents, direct clients, and new brokers, and expand business from Bancassurance partners.
Train, coach, and assist fresh middlemen to meet sales targets.
9. Follow and respect underwriting policies and standards as stated occasionally by the underwriting manager.
10. Get daily sales reports ready for the sales manager and other reports as asked by management.
11. Guide and help customers with claim processing.
Deliver according to the personal scorecard and strategy map specified performance criteria.

Knowledge, expertise, and credentials needed
1. Bachelor’s degree in a business-connected field
2. Added advantage is professional qualification in insurance (CII certificate or similar).
3. At least one year of similar employment
4. Understanding principles and the insurance business
5. Understanding of insurance laws
6. Understanding marketing and sales
