Location: Morogoro

Job Objective

To ensure the earthworks, major civils and building construction is in accordance with the Employers Requirements in the Contract, Preserve the Employers interest that As- Built drawings are generally in accepted international construction norms and standards as well as to Support the Project Site Execution Manager and Project Services Specialist to ensure quality approved building drawings are in place and have been reviewed by the Employer.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish a working rapport with the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contractor to enable you to form a judgement of site work quality.
  • Make that there is no foundation for an EPC Extension of Time or variation in cost claim wastewater involvement methods or judgements.
  • With the Project Service Specialist, understand the resourcing in terms of plant and resources; then, predict outcome in line with wastewater schedule and quality assurance.
  • Completely grasp the earthworks, mass concrete, piling, civils and building execution program status, variations and dangers.
  • Verify that the Employers Requirements in the Contract satisfy internationally recognised quality and methods for construction for the aforementioned as stated in line with international standards.
  • Track and check all Witness and Hold point operations linked with the Project Site Execution Manager to guarantee timely engagement and mobilisation of suitable resources.
  • Access and verify concrete strength test findings; then, counsel the Project Site Execution Manager on any non-conformities and corrective actions to be followed.
  • Verify that building projects meet Employers Requirements and are of a quality fit for them. Particularly noted are rain run-off, storm water systems, and effluent.
  • Make sure that wastewater, effluent, and sewerage systems are built in a way guaranteeing long term operation.
  • Make sure the molasses bladder is built on schedule and following OEM guidelines.
  • Every activity at heights complies with Employers SHERQ criteria and legislation on safety.
  • Make sure the security fence is professionally erected and compliant with Employers Requirements as the last fence is.
  • Promote and follow Project Charter, policies and guidelines including, without restriction those relevant to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti Bribery and Corruption (ABC).

Qualification and Experience

  • Civil and structural engineering degree in project management.
  • Three to five plus years of mass concrete, piling, building and significant structural construction experience.
  • Experience with large scale EPC project management and execution.
  • Capability to understand comparable plant and people needs as well as execution schedule.
  • Capacity to operate in a multicultural surroundings.

Terms of Service: The qualified applicant will be employed under a Fixed Term Contract.
