Overview

JOB TITLE: Cyber Security Engineer

Leading suppliers of sexual and reproductive healthcare worldwide, MSI Reproductive Choices Everybody should, in our opinion, be entitled to make choices. From contraception to safe abortion and life-saving post-abortion treatment, we are dedicated to providing all people with compassionate, reasonably priced, high-quality treatments.

Our company today employs over 9,000 people spread over 36 locations worldwide. Our success stems from MSI teams being locally driven, entrepreneurial, results-orientated, and passionate about providing high-quality, client-centred care in their respective areas. Being a social enterprise, our priorities are sustainable delivery, efficiency, and long-lasting funding sources so that the women and girls we currently serve will have options going forward as well.

We are aware that having access to reproductive choice can fundamentally alter a life. For some, it can refer to their capacity to finish a degree or launch a profession. For others, it implies being able to care for their present family. For everyone, it means the liberty to choose their own future, therefore producing a more equitable society.

About the Role

We are seeking a very driven security engineer who wants to join our Global Information Services (GIS) Team and advance their profession. As we carry out our global goal, you will assist in maintaining the security of our environment by supporting continuous security operations and reacting to events and alarms, thereby supporting the Lead Security Engineer in his or her work.

Apart from daily security operations, you will be involved in some very exciting security initiatives, including the Microsoft Defender for Endpoint global rollout to 8,000 endpoints in 37 countries, further Defender technology adoption, SIEM/SOC deployment, privileged identity management and audit of technical assets, cloud app security deployment, and patch management technology implementation. As we implement our digital/technology approach, these projects are absolutely vital for maintaining world security.

Ideally, in cloud computing, Azure, and on-site scenarios, you will have a decent awareness of security technologies and practices. MSI now follows a “cloud-first” strategy, and our preferred partner is Microsoft. One might benefit from knowing security frameworks such as CIS, NIST, Cyber Essentials, and ISO27001.

Given the rapid rate of development and ongoing new technologies embraced by the company, it is critical that this position be filled by a quick learner who can have an impact right away. You value innovative problem-solving, have the ability to work independently on ongoing security tasks, and derive satisfaction from creating unique automated solutions, ideally using PowerShell and PowerAutomate. Working in a team will also appeal to you.

We are seeking the correct person with a set of fundamental talents that will develop in the position even though we are demanding a lot, as everyone cannot satisfy every need. Cross-training, formal training classes, learning on the job, and knowledge of adopted technologies utilised in MSI will all help you grow. The post might be based in the UK or any African nation MSI works in. Our mixed office/remote working arrangement allows for sporadic, interesting overseas travel options.

About You

Every MSI team member must personally believe in and be dedicated to our organisational goal, vision, and values.

We shall hence only accept submissions from those who are categorically pro-choice.

Our ideals serve as a compass, giving us a straight course. They define our attitude to our job, how we connect with others, and how we identify as “One MSI.” Our team members must really connect with our values and show them constantly in all they do.

We assemble gifted, energetic people from many backgrounds that complement our goal of producing quantifiable outcomes. Being an equal opportunity company means that we are dedicated to creating a welcoming workplace where everyone can engage actively and significantly contribute. Along with a dedication to supporting equality and protecting the welfare of team members and customers, we value open-mindedness, curiosity, resilience, and a solutions-orientated attitude.

We are looking for outstanding communicators that fit MSI’s goal and entrepreneurial attitude, are self-driven, solution-orientated, and committed to bringing social change in an atmosphere emphasising sustainable effect, both locally and internationally, and are comfortable working with varied teams in an uncertain context.

To perform this role, you’ll need the following skills:

Understanding security ideas, including (but not limited to) “zero trust,” “shared responsibility,” and “defence-in-depth” security frameworks.
Knowing Microsoft 365 Defender technology addresses management, configuration, and later security activities required to react to the technology telemetry.
Ideally, using PowerShell and Power Automate, one must be able to automatically create solutions using automation.
Knowledge of cloud, infrastructure, network security ideas, and technologies applied in their protection.
Capacity to control and/or action security issues in a calm and methodical approach, take command of the situation if necessary, manage and assign tasks to deal with the incident, cooperate on minimising the impact, restore impacted services, and grasp and/or address the root cause.
a need and capacity to acquire new technologies to assist in a phase of transition and acceptance of new tools to strengthen security across MSI.
knowledge of security concepts, technologies, and methods applied for various proactive security systems.
Capacity to simply and succinctly interact with coworkers and to deal successfully with outside vendors.

To perform this role, you’ll need the following experience:

Having a technical background, you will have five-plus years of expertise deploying, administering, and working with security technologies (SIEM, endpoint management, communication and networking security, and device management).
You will be familiar with tool management for vulnerability assessments—that is, with Nessus.
Microsoft 365 Defender will be known to you based on Endpoint knowledge.
Microsoft Windows server and desktop device security concepts will be yours.
You would have handled security events efficiently, working with incident response teams.
